"good" is good news?

I've been trying to get ahold of the Club to find out how things went in San Diego but I'm not getting much of a response. nobody is answering their phones. I sent a text asking how the show went and the only reply was from Gina who texted back "good". I'm guessing that the mobile reception is not great where they are. I'll update when I hear more.

In other news, I think I'm getting a cold.

Stranded at the airport... feeling like a fool.

Word has gotten to me that our benefactor never met the BRGC at LAX. They waited around for a couple hours and tried calling him a bunch of time before throwing up their hands and catching an airport shuttle to his house in Hollywood. They figured that maybe he got his days mixed up and his phone was on mute. When they got there they found that his house was all torn down so that was weird. We sang there the last two times we were in LA so it wasn't a case of mistaking the address. The back fence of the lot was decorated with a very distinctive mural so they knew they were in the Right place, just the right place was missing. The house is just a foundation now and the giant avocado tree in the backyard was cut down.

All fence, no farmhouse

The plan now is for the Glee Club to spend the night at Collin's parents house in the Valley (Porter Ranch to be specific) then to rent a couple of vans and drive to San Diego tomorrow for the first show of the tour. Luckily there is enough money in the Glee funds to pay for the rental (I guess all those Mortified  shows were worth it after all!)

All these mixups are making me nervous about flying out on Sunday to join the tour but oh well, summer time fun! Time for adventure, right? Right!

Anyway, if you are in the San Diego area (or in LA and feel like driving a lot) Check out the Blue Ribbon Glee Club on Wednesday, June 17th at:

Bodie's
6149 University Ave
San Diego, CA

Apparently, the club doesn't have a website because they are just that cool. The show is on though, we called ahead to make sure. Doors open at 5:30pm. BRGC at 9. There are some other bands too but that information wasn't relayed to me. I'm sure it will be fine though.

They've Landed!

The Blue Ribbon Glee Club arrived in Los Angeles early this morning. Their flight was about two hours late getting in due to an unexpected stop at the Denver International Airport. Tyler texted me from Denver to report that the ground crew loaded several large boxes onto the plane while they were there, probably UPS or  FedEX stuff. They weren't allowed off the plane but that was okay because everybody was mostly asleep, that's a long ass flight! What's important is that the BRGC is on the ground at LAX! After resting a bit in in LA, it's on to San Diego and glory!

The view from the plane window

This came up when I Googled "Denver Airport", hilarious!

And so it begins...

The Glee Club gathered tonight to put a final spit polish on our touring set before heading out to O'Hare to catch a redeye flight to Los Angeles. Everybody was pretty psyched despite the lousy weather. Originally the tour was supposed to start on the 1st of June but finances were a little off. Instead, we start on Wednesday the 17th and continue on till the end of July. As long as our arrangements on the west coast come through, everything should be pretty awesome. Unfortunately because of work, I won't be able to join them for a couple more days. I should be getting dispatches  from fellow glees already the road which I will endeavor to post here. Anyway, it's been a long, soggy day here in Chicago and I am no writer. Stay tuned here for news and pictures of our fabulous Summer Tour.
